Industrial Overclad Refurbishment
A recent overclad refurbishment showcases how a tired industrial estate can be transformed into a modern, watertight, and aesthetically refreshed facility.
Across three large units (totalling over 5,000m² of roof and wall areas), new 0.7 mm Goosewing Grey Plastisol-coated 32/1000 profiled steel sheets were installed. Manufactured by Thomas Panels & Profiles (TPP), the system provides a robust, low-maintenance solution backed by a 30-year coating warranty, ensuring long-term protection for the occupiers.
To further enhance the building, the project included full GRP rooflight replacements. These were carefully integrated into the TPP 32/1000F profile, refreshing the unit both visually and functionally. The new rooflights introduce diffused natural daylight, improving the internal environment while reducing reliance on artificial lighting.
The completed scheme not only delivers a striking modern finish in Goosewing Grey, but also significantly improves the building’s thermal performance, weather resistance, and overall lifespan.
Additional units on the same site are scheduled for refurbishment shortly, continuing the phased upgrade programme.

New Build Envelope Supply

Overview
KEL Distribution Ltd procured and supplied the complete cladding package for this new build site. The roof utilises 1,250m² of Tata Steel Trisomet® composite panel with 120 mm core in Anthracite (Colorcoat® LG) rapid one-fix installation and robust, long-term performance. The façades are finished with Tata Steel Trimapanel® 90/1000 in Anthracite (Colorcoat® Prisma®) totalling 550m² to achieve a clean, durable architectural look that also meets modern thermal targets.
Outcome
A streamlined, durable building envelope that aligns with the clients brand aesthetic while delivering dependable thermal performance and long-term warranty protection.

Project Overview
An overclad refurbishment delivering warmer, brighter, and longer-life performance. Working with Lane Roofing Contractors Ltd (Birmingham area), the scope replaced ageing asbestos profiled rooflights, installed a new spacer-bar system with mineral wool insulation, and over-sheeted with 0.7 mm steel finished in 200 micron Goosewing Grey Plastisol by Thomas Panels & Profiles. The selected coating carries a 30-year coating warranty, providing robust protection and low maintenance for the client.
New GRP rooflight outers were supplied in Filon Supasafe to match the Thomas Panels 32/1000F profile, maintaining clean lines and consistent diffused daylighting across each slope. The overclad approach minimised disruption to operations while substantially improving thermal performance and extending the service life of the roof.

Agricultural Building - Strip & Resheet
KEL Distribution Ltd were appointed to oversee the strip and resheet of an agricultural building, delivering a durable, practical and long-lasting roof system suitable for farm use.
The works involved the full removal of the existing roof coverings, followed by the installation of new fibre cement sheets in the Big 6 profile. This profile was chosen for its strength, longevity, and suitability for agricultural environments, helping to provide natural ventilation while withstanding demanding weather conditions.
To maximise daylight within the building, GRP translucent rooflights were incorporated seamlessly into the roof layout. These rooflights allow natural light to flood the internal space, reducing the need for artificial lighting and creating a brighter, more efficient working environment.
The result is a robust and functional roofing solution that not only enhances the building’s performance but also provides a clean, professional finish.

Kent - Asbestos Roof Overclad
KEL Distribution Ltd was appointed to coordinate the full material supply for a two-phase asbestos roof overclad project in Kent, providing a durable, modern solution to extend the lifespan and performance of the existing roofing structure.
Phase 1
The first phase covered 734m² of overcladding using 0.7mm Goosewing Grey Plastisol-coated Thomas Panels & Profiles 32/1000F, complete with a 30-year coating warranty for long-term protection and aesthetic consistency. To enhance natural daylight, 67 linear metres of GRP rooflights were supplied to suit the TPP profile. In addition, 98 linear metres of stock Double 6 Metric Profile GRP rooflights were sourced to replace the original asbestos rooflights that had reached the end of their serviceable life.
Phase 2
Phase 2 continued the upgrade with a further 533m² of Goosewing Grey overcladding using the same Thomas Panels & Profiles 32/1000F profile for continuity across both phases. This stage also included 45 linear metres of corresponding GRP rooflights, ensuring consistent daylighting and visual finish across the full roof area.
All materials were fully sourced, coordinated and supplied by KEL Distribution Ltd, ensuring seamless product compatibility, warranty compliance, and efficient delivery scheduling across both phases.
Twin Industrial Units - Kingspan Quadcore Build
KEL Distribution Ltd is proud to showcase another fantastic project delivered for one of our long-standing regular clients. This development features two brand-new industrial units, constructed side-by-side with a premium Kingspan QuadCore envelope system for both the roof and walls.
Roof System
Each unit was supplied with:
- 621m² of Kingspan KS1000RW QuadCore panels,
80mm thickness in Merlin Grey XL Forté coating - 68 linear metres of Kingspan DLTR Polycarbonate Rooflights,
achieving an impressive 1.0 W/m²K U-Value - Full set of roof flashings, expertly manufactured by PMF Ltd to exact project specifications
Wall System
- 397m² of Kingspan QuadCore panels per unit
- 60mm thickness in Black XL Forté, installed across all elevations
- All associated wall flashings also produced by PMF Ltd, ensuring a perfect fit and high-quality finish

Coleshill Industrial roofing Refurbishment

This project involved the refurbishment of a large industrial unit located in Coleshill, delivering a modernised roofing system designed for long-term durability, weather protection, and natural daylight performance.
Prestec UK Ltd acted as the main contractor and installation specialist, carrying out the full refurbishment works on site.
KEL Distribution Ltd was responsible for the procurement and supply coordination of all roofing materials for the project, ensuring specification accuracy, manufacturing alignment, and scheduled deliveries to support the installation programme.
The roofing system was manufactured by Thomas Panels and Profiles, using their TPP 32/1000F profile finished in Goosewing Grey Plastisol, supplied with a 30-year Coating Warranty to ensure long-term performance in an industrial environment.

Admiral Park Overclad - Portsmouth
KEL Distribution Ltd is proud to have supported the successful overclad of an industrial unit located at Admiral Park, Portsmouth.
This project involved the refurbishment and upgrade of the existing building envelope, enhancing both the performance and overall aesthetic of the structure. The overclad solution was designed to provide long-term durability while minimising disruption to the operational facility.
A total of 2,805m² of Thomas Panels & Profiles TPP 38/914 profile was installed, finished in Goosewing Grey Plastisol with a 30-year coating warranty, ensuring a robust and low-maintenance external finish. The selected system offers excellent weather resistance and longevity, making it ideal for refurbishment applications of this scale.
To complement the cladding system and improve natural daylight within the building, GRP rooflights were incorporated to suit the same profile, maintaining consistency across the roof area while enhancing internal working conditions.
The project demonstrates the effectiveness of modern overcladding solutions in extending the lifespan of existing structures while delivering a clean, contemporary appearance.
